A Collaborative Community

This is a community collaboration that welcomes photographers, models, designers, artists, musicians, and local brands to show up with an open mind and creative energy. All levels of skill and experience are encouraged to attend – we all learn and contribute to the creative whole in equal measure. Vantage Point was created to inspire creative play, foster relationships between artists, and facilitate exploration into the art of photography together.

We Make Images
Vantage Point aims to inspire each participant to create images in collaboration with the other models and artists in the community. The photography possibilities are endless, with no restrictions placed on your imagination. Our community is open to all types of photographers and equipment – bring your digital camera, film camera, instant camera, phone camera, video camera… “the best camera is the one you have with you.”
We Share Images
As part of our collaborations, photographers retain their copyrights, but we request that all photos taken at our events are freely available to everyone involved in the creation of the image. We hope that each participant finds joy in sharing the work they create within our community.
We Make Connections
Vantage Point is a great opportunity to network with other creatives, expand your photographic horizons, and make new friends. We hope this serves as a beginning for myriad connections and opportunities within and beyond our events.
We Learn From One Another
Vantage Point is a place for growth. With a wide variety of skill sets and experience, we gather to play and share knowledge and techniques in a friendly and non judgmental space. Everyone brings a unique vantage point, and we want to harness all of them. Come plant your seeds with us.

What is Vantage Point?Our Mission
VANTAGE POINT (noun): the position or standpoint from which something is viewed or considered. In photography a vantage point is considered the best angle at which a photograph can be taken – a perspective unique to the photographer’s vision.
Vantage Point is a photo walk designed to inspire, educate, and build community for photographers looking for a creative outlet. We meet once a month just for the sake of making art and making new friends. This is a time to put down the work and play, test out new equipment, try a new technique, give yourself permission to experiment, or maybe use that camera that’s been sitting up for years. We grow stronger when we gather and share information, styles, and techniques with each other. This project was created in July of 2023 with the intention of providing a free space for photographers to expand their knowledge of photography through the gathering of a photo walk. Vantage Point has become a true collaborative community that encourages anyone wanting to create photography or model to join this art project and share their skill sets.

I knew almost nothing about photography when I started coming to Vantage Point, but in the fairly short amount of time l’ve been attending, l’ve learned so much not just about film, cameras, composition, and the technical aspects of photography but also a lot about getting out of my comfort zone in a positive way. Having a kind group of people who are all helping each other be more creative, interesting artists has bled into all other avenues of my life and really opened me up to making art for myself again.

Modeling has become the healthiest hobby I’ve ever picked up in my life! …I study poses, practice, stretch, put effort into it, get into character, etc… I see it all coming together with amazing photographers that I’ve had the pleasure of working with, some whom I may not have met had it not been for Vantage Point. I’ve also developed supportive relationships with some of the other models that I’ve met at Vantage Point.

Vantage Point is just an amazing group of people – we have so much incredible creativity and talent on both sides of the camera, I never cease to be amazed. This community has pushed me way beyond my previous comfort zone into new styles and subjects and formats – whole new levels of photography for me. Since I started with Vantage Point, I’ve been lugging my camera around almost everywhere. Of course, on the rare occasions I leave it at home, I kick myself for it. I still have a lot to learn, and I realize that having a hobby you’re passionate about means you’re forever learning… These photo walks are a constant stream of learning experiences from the community and my own mistakes.
